If you know Tanna Darty then you know she's probably one of the hardest working and funniest people you'll ever meet. When she's not busy serving as Color Group Captain or sending funny tweets to sisters she's usually sharing her love for all things KD!
Where are you from?
I'm from Hoover, Alabama. It's not too far outside of Birmingham!
What are you majoring in?
I'm majoring in Biology
What made you want to apply for council?
The older Kappa Delta's really encouraged me when I was a new member and inspired me to take on a pretty large appointed officer position of social chair. I was a little bit scared about having so much responsibility but having sisters who encouraged me really increased my confidence in myself and my leadership skills. The next year the same girls encouraged me to apply for council. I knew being on council was a big commitment, but I was ready to take on a larger role to serve my chapter and I was excited to learn about how Kappa Delta works behind the scenes. I knew after my first year on council that I had to be on it again. Being on council, in my opinion, is the best way to give back to the chapter and to make effective changes that better our chapter. This chapter has given me so much and it is such an honor to be able to represent and serve the women who are a part of it.
What is your favorite KD memory so far?
One of my favorite KD memories to date is both spirit weekends I have been a part of. This is a weekend that we all spend together preparing for recruitment. It is a lot of hard work, but its also so much fun because it is a reunion of our whole chapter after a summer of being apart and we are preparing to welcome a new pledge class which is such an exciting time!
What are you the most excited about for your position as President?
I'm so excited to help the other council grow as leaders and positively impact our chapter. Being President means that a lot of what I do is cheering on our chapter and council to achieve great things inside and outside of our chapter. It's an incredibly special position and I'm so happy to serve this chapter through it.
What's a fun fact about you?
Haha almost everyone in our chapter knows but I. Love. Llamas. (so much!)

Despite serving from a distance Tanna is still finding ways to make every member of our chapter feel heard and inspired. From planning virtual movie nights to sending us all cheerful updates Tanna is still working hard for all of us. We love Tanna and we're so fortunate to have her leading our chapter this year!
