Hey guys! My name is Allie Brown and I’m a sophomore! A little-known fact about me is that I was most definitely born in the wrong decade. Since I was a little girl, I have been absolutely obsessed with the 1980s. Everything about it from hair and outfits to songs and movies. I’m here to give you a rundown of the best of the 80s so your quarantine can be a little more fun!

20. The Shining
The Shining is your classic horror film, but it’s special because it has that 80’s flair. If you’re looking for a gory classic, this movie is for you!
19. The Terminator
Science fiction? The future? Guns? Romance? The Terminator’s got all of it. Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as a robot sent from the future to end all hope of the survival of humanity!
18. Footloose
Kevin Bacon stars in this 80’s classic to save a town forbidden to dance! Get your groove on with this movie. You won’t be able to keep off your feet!
17. Some Kind of Wonderful
This teen flick tells a story of a love triangle between an outcast, the most popular girl in school, and a tomboy. You won’t be disappointed in this classic 80’s teen romance!
16. Aliens
Starring Sigourney Weaver, Aliens is easily one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen. This horror film is about a team of soldiers stuck on a spaceship with a terrifying alien whose mission is to consume every member of that them. This sci-fi classic will haunt your dreams!
15. Indiana Jones Series
I think everybody knows or at least should know the Indiana Jones Series. It’s Harrison Ford and adventure… what more could you ask for!
14. Catty Shack
This 80’s movie surrounding golf is easily a comedy classic. You’ll be laughing so hard, you’ll knock your socks off!
13. The Outsiders
Remember that classic 50’s book about a group of boys your read in middle school? Yea, this is the movie version of it. Between the looks of Ponyboy (C. Thomas Howell), Sodapop (Rob Lowe), and Darry (Patrick Swayze), you’ll be thanking me later.
12. Pretty in Pink
Molly Ringwald stars in this classic 80’s John Hughes film. This classic boy meets girl rom-com will have you falling in love!
11. The Karate Kid
Love some action and romance? Well, you’ll find that and more in The Karate Kid. This flick is all about that feel-good mentality!
10. The Goonies
Can’t get enough of Stranger Things? Check out this flick! Embark on an adventure that you’ll watch over and over again with these goonies!
9. Dirty Dancing
You’ll certainly be having the “time of your life” with this 80’s film. Just be careful, you’ll be falling in love with Patrick Swayze all over again.
8. Ghost Busters
You might think just see the title of this theme and remember the Halloween song, but trust me, it is so much more than that. Written and portrayed by SNL alums, this flick will have you scared and crying laughing at the same time!
7. The Star Wars Series (Episodes 3-6)
Three words for you: Watch. It. Now. Already seen it? Watch it again! (you've got the time)
6. Back to the Future
Would you wanna go see what your parents were like in high school? Well Marty, with the help of a crazy professor, is thrown back in time and almost messes up his future! This sci-fi film is a must when it comes to 80’s classics.

Tom Cruise. In a military uniform. Guns. Airplanes. Danger Zone. Do I need to say more?
4. The Breakfast Club
This flick is probably one of the most classic 80’s teen films. Follow the journey of five totally different kids while in detention. Will they become friends despite their differences?
3. Sixteen Candles
Do you remember that crush you had on that one gorgeous senior? Yea, that’s all this movie is about. Starring Molly Ringwald, this 80’s teen flick will have you watching it over and over again!
2. Blade Runner
This sci-fi film will have you at the edge of your seat. Harrison Ford embarks on a journey to keep robots from taking over the world, but someone gets in his way that he didn’t see coming…
1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? This teen flick is quintessential 80’s. With the help of his best friends and a beautiful red car, Ferris has the best sick day of his life. But what if he gets caught?
